Many of us read about how to save money, pay off debt and get ahead in life, but few people take action without guidance and support. At McVagh Cunningham Group, Alexandra (Alyx) assists clients in setting and achieving goals through a set process.

After running her own financial planning firm, Alyx joined the team at McVagh Cunningham Group in 2011 to round out the services the company offers. Alyx specializes in helping young families and professionals and works closely with Deneen and Nicole to ensure all clients are on track to meet their financial goals.

Alyx is the secretary of the Vancouver Island chapter of Advocis – the financial Advisors Association of Canada – and is a member of the Financial Planner Standards Council. She also serves on the board of directors for Wear2Start, a Victoria registered charity that helps disadvantaged women returning to the workplace.

After graduating from Carleton University, Alyx lived in England and Japan before returning to beautiful Victoria, earning her Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and Certified Health Specialist (CHS) designations and starting her own business. Alyx and her family enjoy cycling around their Oak Bay neighbourhood and spend weekends either playing Ultimate Frisbee tournaments, backpacking in Strathcona Park or skiing at Mt. Cain.
